I recently got an Ergo baby carrier and baby and I love it. My son is still small enough for the Bjorn, but the Ergo will hold him for much longer than the Bjorn and distributes the weight between a waist band and shoulders.

The baby faces in toward the parent, but for older children who want to be able to see the side wearing and back wearing positions may be a better option.

I use the Moby Wrap because its good up to 35lbs its very versatile and I really like it and so does he. Also he is 23lbs and 31" and he goes right in perfectly.

EDIT: The site shows the baby’s facing the mom but you can turn them forward facing.

Get a wrap carrier. Theres no limit to the weight of a child in those and you can wrap it sooo many ways.

Heres a website that has some baby wearing instructions. http://www.peppermint.com/baby-wearing-instructions.html I have done this with all 4 of my kids using some of the wrapping styles on the site listed above. I have even wraped 3 kids at once!!

I don’t know of any front facing carriers, but there are many carriers designed to carry heavier babies where the baby is facing in (and the carrier can be worn on the back as well). Some brands to look into include the Ergo, Beco, Anglepack LX and Patapum, among (many) others.

This Baby Carrier is Awesome! This is the one you can use for your baby to face out in. That is the only way my 7 month old will get in. He loves to stare at mommie but also wants to see what I’m seeing. Plus it’s not bulky and it’s well ventilated, lightweight and is super comfy and is hassle free! Also there’s a variety of colors and textures to fit you and your babys personality!
